With TM Teacher John Cowhig and Special Guest Dr. Keith Wallace

Robert Keith Wallace is what we affectionately call a TM Founder. He was taught meditation by Maharishi himself in 1964 and co-founded the organization’s student arm, The Students International Meditation Society (SIMS), in 1965. In his talk on December 2nd, he will share his personal journey since that transformative meeting 61 years ago.

Dr. Wallace is a scientist and scholar of the first order, holding a BS in physics and a PhD in physiology from UCLA, followed by postgraduate research at Harvard. His seminal papers — published in Science, American Journal of Physiology, and Scientific American — explored a fourth major state of consciousness, advancing a deeper understanding of total brain potential. Since then, his work has inspired hundreds of studies on the benefits of Transcendental Meditation and mind-body medicine.

Over the decades, Dr. Wallace has lectured on consciousness-based health programs at major universities and institutes across five continents. He was the founding President of Maharishi International University (MIU) and has helped establish graduate programs to train physicians, health professionals, and wellness consultants in Maharishi Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine. Currently, he serves as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Physiology and Health, and as a Trustee of MIU.

In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Wallace is a prolific author who has written over 20 books, such as Gut Crisis, The Rest and Repair Diet, The Coherence Code, and Total Brain Coaching (available on Amazon and other platforms). He often co-authors with his son, Ted Wallace, who joined us last July to discuss Artificial Intelligence.

Please join us on Tuesday, December 2nd, for an absorbing journey through the history of the TM organization and the early research into higher states of consciousness.

Begins with a 20-minute group TM.
