They discuss the concepts of calm\, pressure\, and progress as it relates to the significant neurophysiological and psychological improvements gained through the regular practice of TM.  \nThey will comment on a video where Maharishi gives his insight that for maximum progress in our life\, dynamic activity supported by silence is required — not passive calmness. DESCRIPTION:With TM Teacher John Cowhig and Special Guest Sarah Bence \nA Sanctuary for Girls: Thailand’s Dhammajarinee Witthaya School (DWS) \nJoin us this Tuesday\, 21 October\, to hear the inspiring story of an ideal school saving the lives of at-risk girls. \nDhammajarinee Witthaya School (DWS) is a remarkable free boarding school in Thailand dedicated to orphaned\, impoverished\, and at-risk girls. These are children who would otherwise have no safe housing or access to quality education. \nLed by the courageous Buddhist nun\, Dr. Aunampai Passakchai\, DWS supports over 1\,000 students from kindergarten through grade 12. But this is more than just a school — it’s a sanctuary. In this safe haven\, vulnerable girls are shielded from poverty\, trafficking\, early pregnancy\, and hardship. They are empowered to become educated\, confident\, and compassionate young women. \nA Model for Success \n\nThe school has offered the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhis® program since 2006\, with profound results for both students and teachers.\n90% of DWS graduates go on to attend university\, in stark contrast to only 5% of low-income students in Thailand.\nThese girls emerge with the skills and self-assurance to lead independent and fulfilling lives.\n\nOur special guest: Sarah Bence is the Director of Development at DWS. This is fundamental to an artist. \nDuring this session\, Ashia will talk about her own personal experience of inner transformation from “Art lover” to “Artist” that came as a result of her practice of Transcendental Meditation.\nAshia spent endless hours of her youth in creative pursuits\, including dance\, music\, drawing\, and acting\, but it was her TM practice that had a profound effect on her relationship with creativity.
