SUMMARY:Creating Coherence Meeting
DESCRIPTION:With TM Teacher Ron Decter and Special Guests Carla Brown and Duncan Brown. \nAs successful TM teachers based in Chicago\, Carla and Duncan were invited to teach Oprah Winfrey and her team at Harpo Studios in 2012. Since 2014\, they have directed a TM course for academic credit at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine\, where they help medical students manage stress and enhance well-being. \nCarla and Duncan will share their experiences and discuss the outcomes of the Loyola program\, which were published in a book chapter: A Larger Lens: Medical Students Benefit from Consciousness-Based Self-Care. The programme has yielded significant benefits\, including: \n\nSignificantly reduced anxiety\nGreater mental clarity and improved focus\nIncreased resilience\, energy\, stamina\, and efficiency\nIncreased confidence\, sense of control\, and adaptability\nIncreased emotional stability\, compassion\, and empathy\nImproved memory\, recall\, learning\, and ability to synthesize\nImproved sleep\nImproved relationships and teamwork\n2-5 hours additional productive time each day\n\nCarla Brown earned her doctorate in education from Harvard University\, where she wrote a dissertation on the effects of group practice of TM and the TM-Sidhis programme during a war in the Middle East. Her research was published in the Journal of Social Behavior and Personality (2005). \nDuncan Brown holds a B.A. in literature and an M.A. in education administration from M.I.U. Together\, they have taught TM to over 500 medical students and 50 faculty members at Loyola. \nPlease join us on Tuesday\, February 3\, 2026\, for a thought-provoking conversation about the Brown’s unique experiences teaching TM to world-famous personalities and leading medical professionals. \nWe will begin with a 20-minute group meditation commencing at 2:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT \nJoin Session \nPassword required to join this session.
