David will screen “The Razor’s Edge” with a discussion to follow. The film is the 1984 adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham’s greatest and most enduringly popular novel of the same name.

The novel’s title comes from a translation of a verse in the Katha Upanishad, paraphrased in the book’s epigraph: “The sharp edge of a razor is difficult to pass over; thus the wise say the path to Salvation is hard.”

If you have the time, read the book before coming to see the movie.
