Mark McCooey on the Fusion of Business, Kindness, and Wisdom
Tue, March 10 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT
With TM Teacher John Cowhig and Special Guest Mark McCooey
Canada’s Gentle Lionheart: An Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, and TM Teacher
Mark McCooey exemplifies the ideal of a well-rounded individual: he is an athletic intellectual, successful business owner, compassionate philanthropist, and much-loved leader within the Canadian and International TM organizations.
Based in Richmond, BC, Mark has over 40 years of experience guiding companies in aerospace manufacturing and other sectors through start-up, development, and maturation. His accomplishments include:
- President, SEI Industries Ltd. A global leader in helicopter firefighting equipment, SEI products are used in over 90 countries to combat forest fires and other blazes: https://www.sei-ind.com/
- Investor & Manager, Earth Source Energy Inc., a green energy company specializing in geothermal heating and cooling installations.
- Acquisition of isoSolutions Marketing and Management Inc., a world leader in the supply of nuclear isotopes used by hospitals for cancer treatment and medical imaging.
Alongside these professional responsibilities (and his lively family), Mark is an active teacher of Transcendental Meditation and serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian and several international TM organizations. He is also a trained CGA, and his strong financial background, coupled with his understanding of tax and legal issues, has made him an invaluable advisor for many years.
Mark has always been fascinated by the pandit programs in India, particularly the Personal Yagya Program — traditional Vedic performances that benefit individuals—where he serves as audit advisor and as a Director for the Brahmananda Saraswati Yagya Foundation https://www.maharishiyagyaprogram.eu/. He will take us on a journey to India, where these performances are held.
Throughout his long, multifaceted career, Mark has also been fortunate to work directly with Maharishi (and his successor, Dr. Tony Nader), and he will share the insights he gained from those unique encounters.
Join us on Tuesday, 10 March, to hear Mark tell us his story — an inspiring adventure that beautifully balances a fulfilling outer life with deep inner silence.
Begins with a 20-minute group TM.
