Join the Advanced Lecture Series for an insightful and fascinating discussion.

Dr. Mike Tompkins stands out as one of our most talented and prolific writers. For decades, he worked closely with TM Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who valued his ability to translate complex ideas into clear, accessible language. Maharishi also appreciated Mike’s exceptional speed and stamina — he could work for days at a stretch, draft a book in a week, or write a newspaper article over lunch.

Born into a lineage of writers and speakers, Mike was both a National Merit Scholar and Presidential Scholar, graduating with honors from Harvard. His distinguished ancestry includes John and John Quincy Adams, both US presidents, as well as Daniel Tompkins, the nation’s sixth vice president. Continuing this tradition of public service, Mike ran as the vice-presidential candidate of the US Natural Law Party in 1992 and 1996.

More recently, Mike led the editorial team for Dr. Tony Nader’s New York Timesbest-selling book, Consciousness Is All There Is, and moderated the videos for the Consciousness AdvisorSM training course and other courses by Dr. Nader.

In his talk, Mike will explore the long human quest to move from waking awareness to higher states of consciousness — from the field of intelligence to consciousness itself. Drawing on myth, ritual, and meditation, and illustrating his talk with visual materials, he will show how such “crossings” have shaped civilization, and how cultures have long fostered coherence-creating groups to stabilize and perpetuate the levels of collective awareness they attained. Most importantly, he will consider why what Maharishi called “a Group for a Government” is so vitally needed today, and he will share news of current progress toward establishing such groups globally.
