With TM Teacher John Cowhig.

Join a Special Talk, this Sunday March 16, where you can hear John Cowhig, as he shares his incredible journey of working closely with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of the Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhis programs.

John will talk about what led him to learn TM, how he met Maharishi, and came to be Maharishi’s personal secretary, and work on International Staff, as well as some lovely conversations and experiences he had with Maharishi throughout the years.

John Cowhig began his lifelong adventure with TM in Vancouver, Canada, in 1967, after a classic baby boomer trajectory from altar boy to party boy to flower child to learning TM. In 1970, he was made a TM teacher by Maharishi in his ashram on the banks of the Ganges River in Rishikesh, India.

From 1974 to 1977, he served as Maharishi’s personal secretary and worked with him everywhere he went. After that, he represented Maharishi and the TM movement in countless different roles, travelling to over 100 countries for 15 years.

In the late 70’s, he oversaw the Latin American movement with Ron Decter and organized the first Latin American teacher training course. He has taught the TM-Sidhi program and completed TM teacher training courses around the world; co-managed the TM organization’s television station, KSCI in Los Angeles, and contributed to many of Maharishi’s visionary projects, including one to enable developing countries to become food self-sufficient by cultivating organic food on their unused arable land.

Recently he helped with the team editing Doctor Nader’s groundbreaking book Consciousness Is All There Is and wrote the first draft of the glossary.

John recently published a book of poetry, to be followed by an autobiography that includes the 17 years he spent with Maharishi. He lives on Salt Spring Island, in a Vastu house overlooking the ocean and Vancouver where he was born.

Please join us for John’s talk, and Q&A.
